How to fix trackpad / mousepad not working after Windows 11 Update

  1. Plug in a Bluetooth or USB mouse to temporarily get a pointing device.
  2. Open the Windows start menu and search for “Device Manager”
  3. Open the device manager.
  4. Expand the “Mice and other pointing devices” option
  5. Right Click on your trackpad / mousepad and uninstall the driver
  6. Restart your PC
  7. Re-install your mousepad / trackpad driver. You can get the driver files from your manufacturers driver website.
  8. Restart your PC
  9. Your trackpad / mousepad will be working again now in Windows 11.
